Columbus manufacturers

During World War II and after, the community of Columbus and its industry has been a great supporter to the U.S. Military. Cosco Housewares Inc., Cummins Engine Company, and Noblitt Sparks Inc. manufactured everything from beds, gas cans, and diesel generators, to aircraft electronics.

There was a great volunteer effort by the citizens of Columbus in support of Camp Atterbury and Atterbury Army Air Field, later known as Bakalar Air Force Base.

On your visit the museum you can view many other exhibits, such as  71 Special Operation Squadron, 434 Troop Carrier Wing, and the Woman's Airforce Service Pilots (WASP).
